Molokai Lodging on the island of Molokai, Hawaii - Welcome to the "Friendly Island of Molokai"
|
Born of
volcanic eruptions 1 ˝ million years ago, Molokai remains a time capsule
on the eve of the 22nd century. Fifth largest in the
Hawaiian archipelago, Molokai is a slipper of an island, just 38 miles
long and 10 miles wide. Its total 260 square miles contain neither one
stop light nor one building taller than a palm tree. However, what it
does contain is most fortunate for adventure travelers and
peace-seekers. Molokai is the least developed, most “Hawaiian” of all
the islands with nearly 40 % of the local residents being of Hawaiian
descent.

Molokai
has 88 miles of coastline, the world’s highest sea cliffs, measuring a
staggering 2,600 feet above sea level, and the longest white sand beach in all
of the Hawaiian Islands. Truly a unique travel destination, Molokai has
something for everyone. Whether you prefer to hike, take a guided tour,
mountain
bike, visit a rain forest, kayak, golf, charter a fishing boat, surf, boogie
board, dive, snorkel, ride a horse or mule, sight see, whale watch, hunt, crack
macadamia nuts, drink Molokai Estate coffee, soak up the sun on a gorgeous
deserted beach, take a nap, or just grab some shade under a palm tree, you will
be one of the few who has accepted the challenge of discovering the Hawaiian Island less traveled by the
everyday tourist. Since becoming the 50th state on August 21, 1959,
Hawaii has undergone many changes, but remarkably Molokai has survived
relatively unchanged. Molokai is the Hawaii of yesterday, still unspoiled and pristine.
