Molokai Lodging on the island of Molokai, Hawaii - Welcome to the "Friendly Island of Molokai"
|
Molokai
Lodging Mileage Guide
It
is next to impossible to get lost on
Molokai. There are two main highways
which span the island from the east end to the west end, but other than
the Hwy numbers, they appear to be just the same long continuous
highway.
Kamehameha V Hwy
(450) starts at Kaunakakai and ends 27 miles on the eastern side of the
island at
Halawa Valley.
Maunaloa
Hwy (460) also
begins at Kaunakakai. It passes the airport in
Ho’olehua, and ends 16 miles on the western side of the island in
Maunaloa Town. |

-
To reach the Kaluakoi
Resort area, where Ke Nani
Kai unit #254 is located, turn right at mile marker 15 before you make the
curve up into
Maunaloa Town.
-
To reach
Kualapu’u, Kala’e and
the Kalaupapa Lookout, take Hwy 470 where it
branches off from Hwy 450 and Hwy 460 in the middle of the island.

Distances
and Driving Times
The highest posted speed limit on the entire
island is 45mph, so the following driving times may seem extreme, but take our
word for it, they’re about right. So go slow and leisurely, and enjoy the calm
pace, because this is “island style living” on
Molokai.
